2025 Wedding Trends: What’s in & What’s out

As we step into the spring of 2025, wedding trends are continuing to evolve, reflecting shifts in technology, style preferences, and values. Whether you’re planning your big day or simply love to keep up with the trends, this guide will walk you through what I have noticed is in this year and what is fading away.

Sustainable Materials and Vendors:

Being ecofriendly and eco-conscious is growing more now than ever. Couples are opting for biodegradable decor, digital invitations, and locally sourced vendors. I believe sustainability is no longer a trend, it’s becoming a standard.

Unique Wedding Attire:

Traditional attire is getting a new look with guests, brides, and grooms leaning more towards statement accessories and patterned suits. We’ve seen more colorful gowns, embroidery, and folks embracing individuality.

Out of The Box Guest Entertainment:

Weddings are becoming more immersive and many couples are opting for live entertainers; from tarot card readers, mixology stations, crafts, photobooth, interactive food stations, bands, and live painters to keep guests entertained throughout the night.

Florals on Florals & Bold Color Schemes:

Rich jewel tones are on the rise and muted pastels are taking a backseat. Many statement floral and greenery installations are becoming popular and in demand.

Brunch Send Offs:

Many couples are trying to savor every moment of their wedding weekends and brunch and breakfast bars are gaining traction.

What’s Out:

Matching Bridal Parties:

Identical dresses and colors are becoming less common. Many brides and bridesmaids are leaning into mismatched dresses in complementary colors and different textures to allow for more individualistic and personalised style.

Large Tiered Wedding Cakes:

While many are still opting for a small personal cake, many couples are exploring different alternatives like candy tables, donut walls, ice cream bars, and assorted mini desserts.

Traditional Wedding Favors:

Many couples are choosing to lean into edible gifts or interactive experiences like a DIY bouquet station, rather than personalized trinkets.

Overly Staged Poses:

Couples are moving away from stiff, posed, and staged wedding photos and are leaning more into a candid, documentary style of photography and videography.

At the end of the day, every wedding is a reflection of the couple’s personal style, values, and love story. Trends come and go, but what matters most is choosing what feels right for you. These are just some of the shifts I’ve noticed as a coordinator and planner, but I always believe that your wedding should be a celebration that truly represents you.
